Playing an 8 notes clave pattern in a 9/8 time. The pattern shifts from 8th note to 8th note, until come back to the start. Something like the circle of life.

A groove to work on. It’s a 5/4 two bars almost basic rythm, focused on the tuplet of the second bar. Good for practicing how to ‘stretch’ the time, that is a funky, heavy groove, with a single tuplet. Look at the hi-hat: cymbals slightly open, a strong rock accent accent on the downbeat .
