Who said George Lawrence Stone ‘Stick Control’ is only for hands?
You can use this fundamental book to practice and have a lot of fun playing Stick Control exsercises with feet too.
Here some quick tips for a routine, be creative and find yours.
1. Use pages 5,6 or 7

A Berklee graduated friend suggested a good warm-up using the 3 gold page of George Lawrence Stone Stick Control.
Take the page 5,6,7 and play every exercise 6 time them go on until you play all the three page. Start with 75 bmp and then increase and decrease speed until you can execute the warm-up very fast and VERY slowly. Be consistent in sound a search for fluid and smooth execution.

In his last educational dvd “Secret weapon’s of the modern drummer“, His Majesty Jojo Mayer deals with one of The Holy Questions of Drumming: matched or traditional grip?

I like flams. As much i hated in past. Flams are good in warm-up as they are in execution. Don’t abuse, as usual, ‘cos too much notes are only too much notes and, as great musicians say, “less is better”. But when you’re practicing sometimes “much is better”. I wrote down some basics exercises i like to play on practice pad as well on the snare: rudiments full of flams. Not so hard, just a warm up.
