Travis Baker ‘first words’ after the plane crash and DJ AM benefit concert
Almost two weeks in the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles, a lot of surgery and the hands (and most of the body) with second and third degree burns.
It’s Travis Barker after the plane crash he survived with DJ AM: fighting to go back to normal life. And to drums. Us Weekly’s Magazine has an exclusive interview with Barker.
“I am doing the best I can possibly be. I’m so anxious to get out of here. …I’ve just been in surgery after surgery. I have third degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands. One of my hands was second degree burns and one was third degree burns. I’m trying to have a quick recovery and play the drums again and be able to hold my kids again.”
DJ AM pals, in the meantime, are planning a benefit concert to rise founds for the families of four crash victims: pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, co-pilot James Bland, 52, security guard Barker’s assistant Chris Baker, 29, and his security guard and longtime friend Charles Still, 25. The event will take place on 14 oct.
